As expected, Kathleen Madigan provided a star quality performance using new material that delighted the audience. An advice on that material, the use of multiple contact lenses by an old lady could be cut. A bit too much focus on seniors, so cutting that marginal bit would be useful.
My primary comment is on The Magnolia, a newly renovated venue. The seating was a bit scrunchy, and the sound system was clearly set for music, not the spoken word. As a result, nuance of speech - tone, accent, impersonations - were less effective than they could have been. Amp should be reset for spoken performances, with a lot less bass, and not so booming loud. This was not a Heavy Metal performance. Poor amplification detracted from appreciation of the performer.
